Season 2 is Here!
Season 2 is open for enrollment! We have 3 weeks before classes start. On Monday the 29th of January (the last Monday) I will send out an email with the first episode of Season 2! In case you are new to the site here are some of the frequently asked questions as well as a quick overview of what we do here!
What is Drawing Class for Kids?
A while back I heard that schools were starting to cut out their Arts programs because they aren't a part of standardized testing. Art has been a huge part of my life and is a key element of the career that I now love so I wanted to do something. I founded Drawing Class for Kids so that I could provide an economic way for parents to still give their child an art education. We don't focus on how to draw specific things, but rather drawing technique so that you can draw anything you want straight from your imagination. Basically this is a platform for me to try and help kids develop confidence and security in their ability to draw and express themselves visually.
Is Drawing Class for Kids just for Kids?
Not at all! We have had plenty of adults enroll in the class! I really try to explain principles so that kids can understand but they are true for adults and children alike!
How Does it Work?
Each season consists of 5 episodes that are about 30 minutes each. During the season you will have access to the videos and I will release a new video every week. As a class we will proceed through the skills and work together. I am active on social media and if you post your drawings to your facebook or instagram with the appropriate tag then I will know to get on and "grade" your drawings giving helpful feedback and motivation.
How Much Does it Cost?
A season pass is $30. I only run one season at a time but may come back around to do previous seasons every now and then. Don't worry about viewing them in order. While the skills will build on each other, I will not expect you to have seen a previous season in order to participate effectively. This $30 is not per child, it is per room. Basically you can get the whole neighborhood together in a gymnasium and project the video if you want, I don't really care. I just ask that you don't circulate the links to the videos.
